Petit Bateau is the leading French clothing brand famous for high quality designer kidswear. I recently heard the news that the French brand is launching a collection in collaboration with Carven. Carven is another famous French couture house. I think that the first co-collection of these two brands (also available in Singapore now) will be a delight for lovers of French style. The two French brands share a lot of things in common, like both are favorites of the style diva, Alexa Chung.
The co-collection is a perfect blend of quality hard-wearing fabrics of Petit Bateau and elegant shapes of Carven. The collection features classic Carven styles i.e. the attachable collar to wear under t-shirts and jumpers and figure-hugging long-sleeved collar dress. It also includes a few new pieces with patently Petit Bateau touches such as a cute striped bodysuit and a knitted polo shirt that is just perfect for weekend wear.
I especially liked the deep blue dress featuring a small thigh split and pockets that the Petit Bateau Carven joint collection carries. I am sure that women will love to wear the red collar dress that is a more affordable version of the dress, which was spotted on Alexa Chung. What I found most interesting in the collection is the clever twists that are added for updating old favourites. You will be amazed to know that what may seem to you a typical striped polo t-shirt is actually a bodysuit and I am sure, you would not have seen this elsewhere before.
Another item that grabbed my attention were the removable collars, available in three colors – pink, Grey and blue. I think that they are unique and fun to prep up any outfit in your wardrobe.
